UT vs. Texas State Ice Hockey
Posted on December 8, 2018
Last night I attended the Texas State hockey game against The University of Texas. Being a northerner all my life (until the last few years) I’ve seen my fair share of hockey. Last night’s game was a great game! I was impressed with the skill of these players – and I could see in them a love for the game of hockey.
The score was 2-1 UT at the first intermission, and UT ended up winning 5-3, but the final score isn’t a good representation of how tight this game was. Texas State had several players out with injuries, but regardless of circumstances, both teams played with heart and drive, and a never give up attitude. They played good hockey last night, and Texas State had great fan support!
I’ve been a little “hockey starved” since moving to Texas, and I truly enjoyed this game!
This is good hockey, deep in the heart of Texas!

Bailey Kay Hutson Exceptional Rodeo and Bull Ride – 2018
Posted on May 20, 2018
Yesterday I attended the bull riding event at the Ranch Park in Dripping Springs. It was a great event, one that I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys rodeos and western riding. The cowboys, riders and other performers were amazing to watch. These events are unique because the skills used are skills learned from their work – from the things they do in their day to day jobs. This is real, and these men, women and animals are an integral part of what makes America the great place that it is. I hope this never goes away – and, thankfully, as long as we still want to eat, ranches and cowboys will probably always be a part of our lives – thank you, God!
To me, this event wasn’t about who won or lost, or who rode best, or any of that. It was about the experience of being among the animals and cowboys. The Ranch Park was alive yesterday – alive with the excitement of bull riding!
I can’t wait for next year’s event!

This game was very close for most of the first half. However, the Dripping Springs defense held Champion to only 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and they outscored Champion 34 to 19 in the second half to go on to win 54-42.

Varsity Boys Soccer: Austin at Lake Travis
Posted on March 7, 2015
After the first half, Lake Travis lead 3-0. Soccer is an interesting sport to photograph, mainly because the action very nearly never stops. This was a fun game and both teams played hard.
The second half saw only one more Lake Travis score early on. This rest of the second half was a defensive struggle, full of fast-paced action on both sides, but Lake Travis wins today, 4-0.
Varsity Girls Soccer: Akins at Lake Travis
Posted on March 6, 2015
At halftime, Lake Travis is leading 4-0. It’s been a very good game so far, and both teams a pushing hard to control the tempo of the game. So far, Lake Travis has shown better passing and ball control. We’ll see what the second half has for us. Photos will be posted after the game.
The second half was more of the same. Lake Travis just dominated with better ball control. Both teams showed poise, and neither gave up.
Final score: Lake Travis 6, Akins 0.
